Candace Morrison

1000 RYT Certified Teacher

Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin

Candace is an anatomy educator and a long-time practitioner of yoga and meditation, who brings her science background to yoga. Candace's focus is to bring an evidence-based approach to asana as she brings her pursuit of life-long learning and knowledge of the human body to teach how asana impacts the body systems.

This perpetual science student completed her first advanced diploma in Biotechnology. After receiving her BSc. in Biology; her independent study was the biology of stress, studying Dr. Gabor Maté and Dr. Robert Sapolsky. She then became a Registered Massage Therapist and included Neuro-Acupuncture to her tool kit.

1000 RYT, over 10 years of teaching, Candace has continued her education on physiology and the nervous system with Dr. Bo Forbes and Dr. Kelly McGonigal. She continues to explore and deepen her understanding of asana as a tool to align our body systems in order to support homeostasis.

Being of two-minds, both grounded in science and freeing her soul to fly; Candace has completed The Way of the Shaman: Shamanic Journeying, Power and Healing, The Basic Workshop in Core Shamanism® and has Reiki Two.  Her yoga experience is deeply rooted in energetic healing and will be able to perform an energetic assessment, including chakra evaluation, current stage of chakra development, specific areas of focus and a plan for development and change.

When you come to learn yoga with Candace, you'll be able to better understand the principles of alignment and the body's connection with asana. Candace focuses on an evidence-based practice that connects mind, body and breath. Get ready for a deeper understanding of the impact an asana practice will have on human physiology and supporting homeostasis in the body.

My Mission

I am passionate about moving with intention and slowing down to connect mind, body and breath.

I am also passionate about bringing reciprocity to the First Nations. We all live in Canada, and the spectrum includes those of us who have been here for multiple generations, all the way to brand new citizens alike. We come together to enjoy the privilege of living on Turtle Island (North America), with the exception of Reservations that still have water bans. I believe that here on Turtle Island, all of us have a right to clean drinking water. This is why I am blowing the dust off my matt and sharing my yoga with you once more. This is a way for me to donate my time and your money to Water First. 50% of everything that these yoga classes produce will be donated on your behalf.

Water First acknowledges that our office lies within the traditional territory of the Petun and the Anishnaabeg, which consist of the Odawa, Ojibwe, and the Pottawatomi nations.

Today, this area is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work with the community in this territory.
